We publish the guideline formulas, statutory requirements, and filing deadlines that states and counties publish themselves, and we link the official source for every figure. What this site actually does

Every calculator here runs a formula that a legislature, court system, child support agency, revenue department, or county assessor has already published. We transcribe those figures into versioned data files, record the URL we read them from and the date we read it, and show both beside the result. Where the jurisdiction publishes its own calculator or worksheet, we link it and tell you to compare.

What we never do is tell you what to do about it. We do not recommend filing, accepting, rejecting, or negotiating anything. We do not evaluate your case, review your documents, or represent you. The site answers “how is this calculated where I live, and who says so” — nothing beyond that.

Estimates, not answers

Every estimator on this site outputs a range, never a single number, because the published math has real uncertainty in it and a single figure would misrepresent that. A range is a description of a formula’s output, not a prediction of your outcome.

Insurers value claims with their own internal claims software, which weighs factors this calculator cannot see. This is the published consumer math, not an offer prediction.

Family-law results

Courts retain discretion — guideline results can be adjusted or deviated from. This is the published guideline math, not a prediction of your order.

Wills and estates

Our will pages state what each state’s probate code requires to execute a valid will, with a citation for every cell. They are reference tables and a routing quiz. They do not draft documents, do not tell you whether you need a will or a trust, and are not a substitute for an estate attorney in your state.

Accuracy and change

Statutes change, guidelines are revised, and counties move deadlines. We review every figure on a published schedule and re-verify county property-tax deadlines each January through March, before the spring appeal season. When a figure passes its review date the page says so in an amber banner rather than quietly showing you an old number — but the definitive answer is always the official source we link, not us. Verify before you act.

When we cannot open an official source, we publish nothing for that jurisdiction. A missing state page means the number was not verifiable that day, not that the state has no rule.

Your information

The calculators run entirely in your browser. Figures you enter — incomes, medical bills, assessed values, parenting schedules — are never transmitted to us or to anyone else. See our privacy policy for the specifics, and the data page for the rule packs behind every number.
